YOUTH TEAMS FAQ
GENERAL PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Who is the program for?
The Youth Team Program is designed for serious baseball players seeking high-level development to prepare for higher levels of play (high school and beyond). We welcome individual players via tryouts and existing full or near-full teams (8+ players) looking to join.
Does my child need to have competitive playing experience?
For players ages 12U and younger, it is recommended but certainly not required, especially at the 8U-10U age groups. At 13U and 14U, players should have competitive playing experience prior to trying out for one of our teams.
What are the levels of play?
The majority of our teams play at the AAA/Majors level. We do have a few teams that play at the AA level, with the goal of getting to the AAA level by the end of that season.
INDIVIDUAL TRYOUTS AND NEW TEAMS
When are tryouts for the 2027 season?
Tryouts are scheduled for July 6-8. Details and online registration will be released soon.
Are there alternate dates for tryouts?
If the need arrises, we will schedule make-up tryout dates at the conclusion of our regularly scheduled tryout dates. Some of our teams may hold individual or group tryouts - these are invitation only and are extended by the team coach or a member of our staff.
Do you accept existing teams or coaches?
Yes. Diamond Club accepts full or near-full rosters for 2027 and can help fill remaining roster spots through tryouts. Coaches or teams can apply via the "Apply Now" link.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE, LOGISTICS, AND BENEFITS
How many tournaments do teams play?
It is a tournament-only program covering 10 tournaments in the spring and summer. Teams may add more events at an additional cost. 14U teams finish before June 1 so players may move onto our 15U High School Summer Program.
What is the span of the tournament season?
Most teams will start their tournament schedule in mid to late March and conclude with state tournaments in early to mid July. Specific travel tournaments for certain teams may factor into start and end dates for games.
When do teams practice?
Practices start in November for most teams. Teams practice once per week November-December indoors. Beginning in January, teams have two practices per week: a 1.5 hour weekday practice and a 2 hour weekend practice. When fields open in March, teams practice twice a week outdoors and once a week indoors. Specific days of practice are TBD based on each team. For a calendar overview of practices by month, CLICK HERE.
Where are practices located?
Diamond Club teams utilize fields in Wheat Ridge and Arvada.
How many players are on a roster?
Rosters are capped at 11-12 players.
What training and facility access is included in my team fees?
-
Weekly indoor practices (90 minutes) at the Diamond Club Performance Center starting in November.
-
8 weeks of indoor turf field access with scripted practices (Jan-Mar).
-
12 weeks of speed/agility/strength training.
-
Two outdoor practice nights per week starting in March.
-
Access to HitTrax, open tunnel hours, video analysis, and the Futures App (MLBPA-licensed with 300+ pro drill videos).
-
Special camp rates for team members.
What uniforms and apparel are provided?
Player fees include an Under Armour uniform package: two jerseys, pants, and two caps, plus a practice jersey and shorts. Additional Under Armour gear and equipment discounts (e.g., Wilson, Louisville Slugger) are available through the club store.
How does player development work?
The program mirrors MLB organizational structures with consistent coaching messages, mechanical assessments, baseball IQ development, written evaluations after tournaments, and roaming instructors who support team coaches. Progress is tracked toward age-specific skill benchmarks.
Do you offer additional instruction to your players?
Yes. While these programs are optional, they are highly encouraged. Diamond Club players get priority access and scheduling when participating in:
-
Private lessons from some of the top instructors in Colorado
-
16-week small group hitting, pitching, and catching programs
-
THROWformance programs designed for both pitchers and position players
-
Private and group performance training by Elite Speed Sports Performance
-
Various camps throughout the summer and offseason
TRAVEL, FALL BASEBALL, AND MULTI SPORT ATHLETES
Do Diamond Club teams travel?
9U and older teams tend to travel to at least one out-of-state tournament. It isn’t mandatory that our teams travel out of state, but most choose to do so. When offered a position on one of our rosters, it is advised you ask the coach what the travel plans for that team entail. Personal travel expensed, including those of the player, are not covered by Diamond Club fees.
Where do teams usually travel to?
12U teams travel to Cooperstown, NY. Other teams have traveled to Arizona in the early spring, Omaha for the College World Series, Kansas City, Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, and Reno.
Is playing fall ball mandatory?
Most of our teams do play fall ball. It is not mandatory but it is strongly encouraged if your athlete is new to Diamond Club. Fall fees are separate from spring fees and are determined by the team’s schedule, whether they are playing in a league or tournaments.
Does Diamond Club Baseball support multi-sport athletes?
Yes, absolutely. We encourage this, however, during the spring/summer season, we ask players to make their commitment to their Diamond Club team their top priority.
COACHING AND SUPPORT
Who coaches the teams?
Coaches are vetted and supported with tools, practice plans, and periodic training meetings. Our Youth Director handles admin tasks (payments, scheduling, uniforms) so coaches can focus on development. Paid roaming instructors assist with plans and practices.
Is there parent support?
Yes — the program offers parental counseling and strong communication to keep families informed. View our Team Handbook that each family receives prior to our Parent Orientation in September.

What are the fees?
Estimated 2027 fees for the 8U age group are $2495. For the 9U-14U age group they will be $3395-$3495. Monthly payment plans and fundraising options are available.
When are fees due?
